Can anyone tell me if there is an option to display the current car speed on either the ViaMichelin stand alone units or with the software for PDAs? Thanks

From the Main Menu:

- Settings

- Navigation

- Display

- Navigation settings

- Click any of "Left", "Centre" or "Right"

- Click "Speed"

Then whenever you are driving in Navigation mode, your current speed will be displayed in whichever position it is htat you choose.

...or when in the Navigation screen just touch the top part of the display (left, centre or right depending on where you want the speed displayed) and select Speed

I wondered about this as if you have a weak GPS signal would the speed estimate on the GPS be wrong? Or is the speed reported by the GPS unit always spot on. I would assume that by law you should always go with the speedo than the GPS? Question

If you have a valid fix then the GPS calculated speed will invariably be the more accurate. By law your speed is the actual speed, not necessarily the inaccurate speed reported by your speedo.

There are many discussions on the issue of GPS calculated Speed try a Search.
