Hi everyone, really hope you guys can throw some light on my satnav woes!
Am at my wits end here, have got the o2 xda2 + Rikaline 6010 gps mouse + TOMTOM 2 and when I goto the GPS status in the TOMTOM menu all i get is 'GPS position unreliable'
I've selected, in the drop down menus, Rikaline GPS-6010 on COM2: and COM9: neither of which show any signs of communicating.
Please help any suggestions welcome!
Paul.
ps have installed the latest TOMTOM patch even tho it's not connecting via bluetooth, am trying anything now! |

If it is a serial mouse then you need to set it to COM1: _________________ Lutz

Switch of your Infra Red port it hogs Com 1
Go to start, Settings. Choose the connections Tab and then the Beam Icon. Untick the box and all should then be well. This was something my freind had a problem with untill we managed to track down the answer after many wasted hours. |

Thanks guys, maybe thru a collection of errors, but it is working now.
Maybe i'm asking in the wrong part but why does the 6010 GPS mouse flash? Is it locking on? Or is it charging? It seems once it stayed lit up and reselected COM1 all was well. (Bearing in mind it flashed for around 45mins)
Anyway it's fixed so thanks again |

On a side note - this was mentioned here before - the developer's playfulness has won over the ergonomic guidelines. When something is flashing this normally indicates something is wrong, a steady light means all is well. When you are very confident you even show no light at all when all is well.
Unfortunately EVERY SINGLE vendor of BT hardware does it theother way around. Sometimes you have three LEDs blinking frantically in three different colors, just to indicate that all is cool. Very disturbing, especially at night.
Maybe the vendors of BT hardware have a secret pact with the vendors of black sticky tape... _________________ Lutz
