Change language iPaq OS

My friend bought a iPaq with a Spanish ROM. Is it possible to change the language by downloading a new English OS?
What other possibilities does he have?

There is no legal way of doing this...

As Lutz says, this is very difficult. It's believed that Microsoft's view is that the licence for Pocket PC is only for the language version loaded on the device at the factory.

You could contact HP for help - apparently they're sometimes sympathetic and usually dismissive. If you can't get any help, the best thing to do is probably sell the iPAQ and buy another with the language that you want loaded.
