Anyone know if there are enhancements to the MP3 side of things in the pipeline at TT ? I use mine for playing podcasts, and although I like the visual interface and being able to use the remote control etc., I find the navigation very crude. There is for example no fast forward, or skip forward other than whole tracks. When a track is 45 minutes (as in a podcast) it makes it very awkward if you want to get to somewhere other than the beginning.

Tony, try holding the advance/ back button and you can fast advance through the current track in either direction - Mike |

However, the problem with that is it doesn't work with the remote control - and I am totally dependent on the remote control when driving, it is so much safer.
Also, one other problem is that if your finger slips then it becomes a tap causing it to skip the whole track and you have to start over again. It shouldn't be rocket science for TT to add a skip forward function with a user settable advance period.

What would be really nice is if they could add these as optional transparent buttons to the map view. I bit like the button for adding new Cameras. Then you could skip through without having to press several buttons, or even lose move from the map screen. 8)
There is certainly lots of room for improvement in the MP3 functionality. Lets hope TomTom have something in the pipeline. |
