Hi I have just purchased TomTom One V2. I have used it once in the car and decided to update it with the camera database and poi's.

Prior to removing the SD card i had swtiched it on and it was working perfecting. Battery only about a quarter left. Switched it off and removed the sd card and started updating it. Now i find the unit doesnt power up when i press the on button. Nothing happens, either with the SD card or without.

I then took the unit into the car and plugged it into the car charger and still it wont power up. I could return it but dont, if all it really needs is a good power charge. Unfortunately since tomtom dont supply a mains charger I'll have to rely on the car charger for that.

Any ideas, would be appreciated

Thanks Crying or Very sad

I just bought a ONE v2 Europe today. Like it so far but concerned about the battery too. It's full at the moment but......

I've read all the FAQ and can't work out if the USB cord charges it when its connected to the PC (playing around in Tomtom Home for example).

Can anyone confirm? Or do we have to buy the mains charger??

Thanks

Thanks Zogman, that's excellent news - couldn't find that info anywhere.

Saved me £20 which I shall spend on the PGPSWorld SPeed Camera database.

I always have the unit (had an i3 before this) on the cigarette socket in the car and if at home its on the PC being updated so that's good news.

Perhaps Angelnas could charge their ONE up from the USB socket on the PC so it will spring back into life.

Don't understand why you removed the SD card to update it. Best leave it in the unit and power it from the USB cable while updating.

Sounds to me like your unit has locked up (they do this from time to time...) - Solution: take the end of a paperclip, and press it firmly into the small hole on the underside of the unit for 5 secs. Then hold down the power button until you hear the familiar 'bongos'...

There shouldn't be any real reason for removing the SD card in normal operation...

no i'm not a cheapskate , but i am practical...i am aware there are speed cameras everywhere, and like crazylegs , i drive with this in mind...the sat nav warnings are in addition to this not a replacement, it would be a fool that solely relies on warnings from a sat nav....i agree camera positions do change but can i be certain this 'new' position has been logged and uploaded to the database...
