I updated my maps to v660, and had to reinstall my voices because they were in a new data.chk file that I had previously installed, when I updated my maps they had overwritten the new data.chk file, so had to replace and then everything back to normal, is this what happened to yours

Changing a map will not overwrite the data.chk file, but the upgrade to the actual software version does load a new data.chk file thereby wiping out your previously set spoken alerts file.
If you switch to using the ogg file method (as linked to above) this problem disapears, each time a new software version is released load it and your spoken POI warning files will still be in place - much less messing around - Mike

Perhaps I should re-iterate the point I was trying to make, if you use the data.chk method for spoken alerts you are limited to 15 alerts, and if/ when TomTom upgrade the software at some future point the new release will load a new data.chk wiping out you previously loaded file.

If you use the ogg file method there is only the 100 POI limit to consider (every POI could have a spoken alert), and a new software load wouldn’t wipe out your warnings, its easy to set-up and considerably less messing about in the longer term - Mike
