Never understand why people don't search and read answers to the same old questions...laziness I guess.....and/or new users since Christmas I suppose.

Confused

Sorry for what is probably a stupid question but a search came up with no references to TomTom Home. I have just bought a new PDA (Loox N560) and added Navigator 6. I see there are separate versions of the database for TomTome Home and OV2. I presume that, as TomTom Home is now on my PC from installing the TomTom DVD, I should choose the Home database. Is that right? What's the difference?

Thanks

Norm, You can use the Home version if you really must. It is easy to use there is some additional information on how to use home Here - to be honest if you are used to using the normal method to install POI files I would stick with that.

In terms of the actual data there is no difference, you get the same data/ files irrespective of the download type. The TomTom Home version contains the data arranged in a specific way to enable Home to install it for you - Mike

Thanks, Mike. Smile It's a while since I had a PDA that supported GPS but I will follow your suggestion and use the OV2 version.

I have made a folder on the c drive of the PC and all the ov2 files are there. However i cannot 'drag' them across to the CF card on the Dell. If the CF card is locked how do i 'unlock' it?

Thanks

Using Windows Explorer select all the ov2 files and bmp files that make up your POI files, once they are all highlighted right click and select "Copy".
Now go to the mobile device and open the CF card using Windows Explorer, locate the map folder, right click and select "Paste" from the pop-up box - the files should transfer to your devices card.
Otherwise use a card reader as this method is not reliant upon Active Sync - Mike

Mike,
since your post , i havebeen downloading the files and have them in a folder on the PC showing all the ov2 And bmp files. The Dell is connected to the PC ok as i have transferred other word and excel files to the PC. However i still cannot drag and drop the speedcam files to the CF card on the Dell and even when i try and copy and paste them onto the CF card the paste selection is greyed out!!
I have even formatted the CF card and still cannot do it!
I have looked everywhere for any clues on the 'unlocking' of the CF card both on the forum and on the Dell site but no luck,
Is my card 'locked' and how do you unlock the card?

Hi there

Does anyone know if the safety camera warnings will work ok with additionally purchased TomTom voices? (I've got the John Cleese one on mine!)

Your choice of Navigational Voice has no effect on the Camera Warnings.

Have you copied the .ov2 and the .bmp files to the map folder of you choice?

Have you selected the correct map in TTN, i.e. the map where you've placed the .ov2 and .bmp files?

Have you reset the iPAQ?

How many POIs have you got loaded?
I think that the max for TTNav5 is 39.

Regards,

Hi Mate,
Thanks for the welcome and the advice.

yes I've copied all the .ov2 and .bmp files into the 'great Britian Plus' map and reset the device. But I think I've down loaded all the POI's Embarassed I didn't know there was a limit. Is it just a case of deleting them all and then just checking the camera files for a start to see if that is the problem?

Regards Carl

Have a look at this thread. It's a different model, but I imagine the same will apply.
