I have set the pin and typed in above it "if found please ring (mobile number) thank-you and I have also changed my splash screen to one of my wife and I. If I ever loose my tomtom or if it gets stolen and then recovered I can identify it.

There have been LOADS and LOADS of posts on this subject. Whilst most folk agree a PIN and sundry other measures are nice, the only infallible measure is to never leave your satnav where someone can pinch it - by the time the thief (or his customer) sees your PIN, picture, message or whatever, he or she has already busted your glass and run off with it. I haven't got a TT ONE, but I'd bet I could crack the PIN and so forth and probably so could anyone else who'd be prepared to buy one in the pub. Plus if the thief gives up in despair, he's not likely to dump it where it might be recovered for you. I DID load the PIN on my TomTom GO when it first became available, but soon decided all it did for me was delay my startup.

No, hopefully it comes back!

Seriously, I agree with Dennis. The main hassle is having your window smashed and losing the kit.
Having a pin isn't going to save you any of that; you'll just have a vague feeling that they are having a bit more trouble getting it working/selling it on.

i would never leave it in my car, not even for 2 mins while i grab a takeaway, But !

A friend of mine was pulled up at traffice lights and they opend her passenger door and pulled the unit out and ran off with it.

so if the Pin is usefull ill use it, otherwise if they can get through it, i wont waste my time if it's useless.

Flogging the joke to its last legs....
Sounds like the pin (or better, pins) need to be taped all over the Go's case to stop people grabbing it at traffic lights

I set my home address to my local police station(because even I can navigate home from there), and the owner info address to an office address, in my case, the MOD, who will greet thieves with large guns and dogs.
