Well, I couldn't even load the servbice pack onto my N20 Confused Confused

I only tried loading it as I wanted to get the one free camera download you get when you buy a new N20 but the "special offer" link from the ST desktop came up with a message that I needed to download the latest update. When I tried to load the SP1 I got an error message stating that the "language of the service pack didn't match the language of the ST desktop" Confused . I raised a tech support fault with Navman and they advised that there have been some technical problems with camera subscriptions etc that will be resolved in service pack 2 due out next week!

The fact that this is so soon after SP1 shows that thre are some pretty fundamental problems. Don't they test these relases first Confused

Just tried to load SP2 and got the same error message stating that the laguage of the SP doesn't match ST desktop. Raised another web ticket with Navman.....

Anyone else ever seen the same error?

The customer support page mentions SP1 only. Perhaps SP2 was a limited edition !!

When you go to the original update URL download the patcher80.exe and run it; you then have a choice to download SP2. There is no mention of SP2 until you run patcher80.exe

Well, despite me be unable to connect to the Update page last night, when I tried this am I connected successfully. I have now uploaded to SP2 to my N20 and will report back when I have used it.

For information the update (patch) is called SmartST SE SP2 and the file name is setup_4_11_sp2.exe
The effect is to update the SmartST SE from v 4.10.018 to v 4.11.07

The file updates the SmartST SE and then you should reboot your computer. Then open SmartST Desktop and you will be asked if you want to install the update to your Navman. Make sure that you look at the Navman screen after the file appears to have finished loading on your PC as it will still be running on the N20. When the N20 has finished updating, then your should shut down SmartST and disconnect the device.

All default Navman POIs working OK. Have deleted all the old PGPSW POIs and installed yesterdays update Consolidated by type selection. Unfortunately I am back to my old problem in that although the files can be seen via my PC on the card, they do not appear in the list of installed POIs and they do not work. Back to the drawing board. I seem to be the only person having this trouble so what am I doing differently to everyone else Crying or Very sad Nothing so far as I know....however, I have posted a note on the Speed Camera forum saying that I get a warning after each POI upload saying "XML Doc must have a top level element. Line: 0" whatever that means Sad

I happy to report that, at last, my N20 is behaving properly. Had some help from the forum moderator Tim - thanks Tim Thumbs Up

I removed all the old installed POIs except the default ones installed by Navman, both from the SD card and the memory.

I then edited each of the downloaded POI files from the 'Consolidated by Type' file by removing the Lat/Long line from each - not strictly necessary because the a; in front of each line makes the POI editor ignore the line. I also removed the 'Control lines' at '0'
I then reloaded all the files to the device memory - not the SD card and all now work.

In addition, I no longer get the warning screen telling me that maps have failed to load.

So one happy bunny Jumping With Joy

If anyone has a problem loading the POIs let me know if this helps - or PM me and I will talk through. Wink

SP2 update is now out to put right the problems of SP1 but it still rubbish, you can page down once on the alerts screen and see 2 more alerts but that's it, the curser moves down as you page but no more alerts appear.
I have rang Navman and they said they know about the problem and are working on it.
Anybody else tried it out yet?
