I am at a total dead end with this. I have read the huge thread in how to change the i3 voice, but I have one big problem.

If I put my T/F Card into the reader the only things on the card are 2 files named

"GMAPSUPP"

and another called

"GMAPSUPP.UNL"

From the instructions on how to change the i3 voice it says there should be a voice folder.

I have the i3 where the maps are on the T/F Card and am using software V2.7.

PLEASE CAN SOMEONE HELP ME!!!!

Yep that was one of the first things I thought it could be, but it still just shows them 2 files.

There should also be two directories, called Poi and voice. The voice directory normally contains a collection of VPM files - these are the language files.

Your i3 will still work without the VPM files though, because when a new language is selected, the contents of the relevant VPM file are copied over to the internal memory.

Did you by this unit new, or second-hand?

I bought it brand new, and then down graded the software version to V2.7.

The POI folder is there, but the Voice folder isn't.

What do you suggest I do?

Audio v2.00 uses the voice directory on the card, but I don't think that later versions do.

Have a quick search on here for downgrading the audio version (not something I've got any experience of, I'm afraid)

Hi guys

same here...I3 version 9,f/w 3.20 (came with 3.10..upgraded to 3.20 ) audio ver 2.50 ..mapsource city navigator europe NT v9 (and i still get the splash telling me the maps are out of date!!)....card contains the two files called ..GMAPSUPP.IMG (180,996KB) AND GMAPSUPP.UNL (1KB)
and about 3 hrs ago added folder containing poi's.

Using irfanview gmapsupp.img is described as a gem raster file (from this point on i'm lost!)

no folders on the card named voice or poi (until i used poi loader to add one)

was hoping to change voices myself (didnt get card reader till today) but looks like there have been some changes to things????

regards
Mag

Thanks for all your advice so far guys.

I don't want to play around with downgrading the voice version until I hear from anyone who has tried this already!!!!

Strange how the newer units don't allow access to the voices.

If anyone knows a way around this then please share it with us all.

from what i can gather the .unl file is the unlock code for the unit and i assume maps, voice files etc are contained in the .img file (176mb) but its beyond my capability to open the file and see what it contains.

any hints or tips gratefully accepted :D
