I have used the safety camera database before and not had a problem, but for some reason I am unable to extract the camera file. I am using Winzip, which seems to be working, but when I click on one of the folders, I just get a camera icon, abnd when I click on the other, I get a message telling me that Adobe can't read it.

Advice would be much appreciated.

Weird, especially the bit about Adobe, that shouldn't be getting involved at all.

Are you using Windows XP? If so, you don't need Winzip, just right click on the .zip file and select "extract all".

Have you tried downloading again? It could have got corrupted. You mention "folders", you should just receive a single archive file called (I think) pgpsw-speed-cams.zip.

Is there another .zip you could try unzipping? POI Capture for example, just to see if that works...

It sounds like there is a problem where the wrong program is trying to open the data files. But don't worry out it because you don't need to open them. Just unzip and transfer to the Sat Nav.

Oh damn this lack of editing... Come on PGPSW go out and BUY some decent bulletin board software!! Grrrr

Sorry Paul, you're right... somehow I mis-read the OP twice.

whiteheat, are you sure of your terminology? I don't see how you can click on a folder and get anything to happen other than it opening to show the files inside.

As Paul says once the zip archive is un-zipped, you SHOULD have a bunch of files.
What version of the database ar you downloading - i.e. for what machine?
If TomTom is it the .ov2 or the 'Home' version?

Andy_P2002 - unless whiteheat wants to correct me - i'm sure whiteheat says folder but means file. I fix PCs for a living and part of the job is working out what is wrong from what the customer says. Some words are often used as replacements for the proper word - such as PC towers being called Hard Drives and Hard Drives being called Memory etc...
