In case anyone here is interested, here's the conversation I had with TomTom support:

Hiya - I know TMC data is quite new in Europe but it also exists in the USA, distributed by ClearChannel. Do you have any plans to release the TMC aerial in the USA, perhaps?

I have been testing the TMC receiver since a few months. I would be surprised to see it on sale this year. TMC coverage is rather patchy. Don't try the european receiver over here-they use a different license.

Interesting. I hope it will be release with the firmwire that suppose to fix the TMC problems that Europe is getting.
