|
|
Have just purchased TomTom One V2 and it worked straight from the box, great as me and the wife were going away for the weekend.
However, probs with my Blackberry 8700 bluetooth, both devices paired ok, but it wont do nothing else.
Checked the TomTom website and my phone is not listed there.
Any ideas when TomTom will update the phone compatibility, if ever ?
Thanks

What are you trying to do?
The ONE will only use the blackberry as a modem for traffic and other pLUS services - nothing else _________________ -----------------------------------------------------------

Hi Mark
I assume you are trying to use the plus services such as traffic? The ONE does not support bluetooth hands free telephone calls.
If you search the forum there is another thread regarding Blackberry and TomTom. Without getting technical, it appears that the software on the 8700 does not support data transfer via bluetooth. I tried to contact RIM and my provider T-Mobile but neither could say if or when updated software would be available. TomTom were equally unhelpful. Apparently the new pearl will work with TomTom but I don't think anyone has confirmed this on the forum yet.
If you find a "work-round" please post it here!
Cheers - Nick |

All,
thanks fro your input so far and yes i was trying to use the bluetooth for other services like Trafic
looks like i will have to use my SE 750i for traffic
my Blackberry is used on my parrot 3200ls hands free kit
i was hoping just to have one phone in the car, but it will have to be two now
if I find any workarounds i will post
cheers

Hi Mark
Hope no-one minds an off topic post but can you use voice activated dialing with the parrot, even though the blackberry 8700 does not support this feature?
Thanks - Nick |

Hi Nick,
Yes the parrot 3200 ls allows you to record a voice print which is stored on hands free kit as opposed to the phone.

Current 8700 firmware does not allow data over Bluetooth (as a security measure according to RIM) |

I have a problem pairing the 2 to activate the traffic updates. The 2 can see each other via the bluetooth but I cant get the TomTom to do the wireless bit through the Pearl. I have spoken to RIM and my phone network (Vodafone) and neither could help. Any help out there. |
