Proximity Warning - Shortening the Distance

Does anyone know if it is possible to reduce the distance at which a proximity warning is given?
I use a Garmin 2820 and have the Speed Camera database installed. It is really annoying that it starts to 'bong' about a mile before the camera location - particularly once you have been warned and can see the thing!
It is bad enough in a car, but when I use it on my motorbike the constant 'bonging' inside the crash helmet is like water torture.

How have you installed the file? If via POI Loader, you can select Manual instead of Express Mode which will allow you to customise the alerts.

Constant bonging sounds more like an overspeed warning, not a distance warning (which is normally a single warning) though.

or you can use Ash10 or CBROM's utilities that allow you to specify the warning distances and also edt the files in such a way that the icons are ALWAYS shown on the screen
