wife got it for me and xmas. was a demo and on shelf for some time. Would it be better to get a newer model or will downloading the software from lawrance bring it up to date?

Finally got a answer from Lawrence. They said if you download the new software from their site the GPS would be the same as the latest one on the market of that style. Mr. Green
