£50ish I think it was.

On a side note they have tomtom nav 6 under there mobile section as well and tomtom now comes on mini SD looking at whats in the box. The charger also seems to do pda's and phones as well.

Does this mean Nav 6 is compatible for both pda and phones? or just smartphones.

The upgrade from v3 to v5 was quite cheap. Cannot remember the actual figure but we did get maps of Europe. It will probably be similar this time because if it's not then a lot of people will not upgrade.

But they have just announced TT 6 for smartphones and PDAs.

Remember when they switched to TT 5, they also had basically the same code for all versions. It probably doesn't take much to have PDA and smartphone editions.

And those rumours are untrue!

What I meant was will Nav6 cover all PDA/smartphone/Nokia style phones.

Rather have a separate Nav6 and Mobile 6.

Hi Darren

How well does TTN 6 run on older systems? I have an iPAQ3830 (32MB) full details of setup shown below.

TTN5 runs well on this system, although not as fast as TTN 3, particularly when recalculating longer routes. This is probably a 'feature' of TTN 5 which I believe uses a great deal of processor power. Have things got better with TTN6 or will my system be struggling to keep up?

Thanks

Also the price, is £69 really right for the software and GB map with MROE? The current price for that on TTN5 is £140.

Upgrade or new, this seems quite cheap.

TeleAtlas have NOT mapped Ireland to any acceptable extent that is why I ditched my iCN 630 and went to CoPilot and then ditched that for my Subaru in-car system.

See latest TeleAtlas mapping here and switch to Ireland.

The coverage is laughable.

Now look at the latest Ireland NavTeq map for Ireland here.

The coverage is like night and day.

NavTeq have mapped the country using townlands as markers, and in doing so has come up with stunning data.

I have looked hard at desolate places that I know very well and tiny boreens with grass up the middle are mapped.

Subaru are releasing Q2 2006 NavTeq discs at the end of September.

Edited by Privateer to tidy up link.

If you look at the link for the Tele Atlas "Map Insight", you’ll see that it is a limited release and is thus probably old mapping data! ;)

€600 in Ireland from Subaru - expensive but will be worth it for the new detail.

Privateer, where have TeleAtlas announced that they now have 100% mapping for Ireland?

as I only speak English, get speed cameras from here and use Checkpoint to warn me if I'm over the speed limit as I approach one, have a pda not a smart phone so won't be receiving phone calls and I don't want to message buddies while I'm driving, unless there's an up to date map or an option to avoid tiny lanes (I'd happily trade that for the avoid motorways option) does it offer very much?
