Can I navigate via GPS Coordinates?

Hi. I've just bought "Navigate 7" for PocketPC (7.0.990) and - so far -seems OK. I've seen one occasion when I tried to navigate to a specific Britain Post Code (PO1 2LN) that the Ipaq H2210 locked up with a "Calculating..." message. I've email Route 66 support on that one.

Question: I've scanned the manual and find no mention of any means of navigating to a specific GPS set of coordinates. Has anyone worked out whether this is possible? If so - how is it done? (An attempt to work-around the "lock-up issue" navigating via Post Code)

Welcome to the forum, nav to a co-ord is not possible as a direct action, but as you have the lat/ long you can create a POI file containing this (and any other locations) each POI within the catagory you create can contain a specific name.

Then you simply tap Nav to/ POI around GPS Position, select your POI catagory from the list (as a tip to make it apear first in the list start the POI catagory with the letters Aa-unique name )

I am not too sure how many POI you can enter into each catagory, but there doesn't appear to be a distance limit to this method, I have been using this Nav to POI option the most as I find the other options are too troublesome in operation, once set the POI file is there for good.

As for how many POI you can list using my method above, there is no realistic limit you will hit doing this for custom made POI, I have just tried a file test and my unit listed all 2322 entries, they are in the order of nearest to current GPS position first.

Ther is a known (to R66 anyway) Software bug in Route 66 navigate 7 which causes the software to "stall".It happened my unit (AIRIS T920) and i got the fix today.I got the SD card reflashed with the fix and then downloaded the new Q2 2006 Navteq data onto card ....prob solved.

Route 66 are aware of this bug and do have a fix available.Contact your vendor for details.
