A mate of mine bought a Canon camera from Pixmania and he said that they were top-notch. The stuff arrived when it was supposed to and when he phoned about a minor problem, they sorted it out for him immediately with no excuses or the need to be threatened with consumer law as you have to do more often than not in this country!!
May be worth your while to get an SD card for the Euro maps at the same time (if you need them).
I just wish I could have got one at this price!

Ive also bought stuff like cameras from them but you might find the paper manuals and documentation is in French. Not a big deal as you can download the manuals in English from Mio.They might even be on the cd,not sure.Although it might become a problem if you want to sell it on later.
Just something to check first |

The UK map is on the DVD. Ask the first though, then, if it isn't you can send it back!

hmm debating whether to get this now from globalpositioningsystems or gpsforless as both have for 240 quid, id be saving 30 quid if i went with pixmania although im not sure about whether if something went wrong with the unit in the first year id have to get in touch with mio support (as pixmania state this) and we know what mio's support is like at the moment (according to some posts on this forum)
has anyone had any joy with gpsforless or globalpositioningsystems? im looking to buying this on finance which would be beneficial to me at the moment too as im gonna be buying other things in the meantime |

My wife bought a digital camera from them and was messed about badly, although she did get the stuff in the end. They had a resource problem last Autumn but they may be better now.
I got mine from GPSforLess - very good company, arrived next day but cost £250 with postage.

excellent service and about the same prices as everyone else. If you phone them and say you have been directed to them from pocketgpsworld you can ask them for a dicount. may give you an extra couple of pounds off the price :D |

|
|
Hi all newbie here
Just bought the C710 and very impressed with it so far. However, the routing seems to be rather erratic. Planning a route from Tunbridge wells to Twickenham took me all over the houses and avoided the m25 despite selecting any of the three options fastest, economical etc. But if you press "?" it says there is an "Easy" route option that is mainly motorways but this is not an option that is available??? So if I do want to make sure it uses a motorway what option do I select??
Many thanks |

Make sure that avoid motorways option is not selected. Also try experementing with types of vehicle. try and select truck or bus instead of car. In my experience, selecting truck take a significantly more direct route and avoids all the small roads.
The "easy" routing option unfortunately does not exist. I suspect they forgot to delete this help option when iGo (aka MioMap3) was ported over from the pocket pc for Mitac / Mio.
Hope this helps!

Out of interest, did you have the TMC switched to auto re-calculate based on traffic information? Maybe the M25 was worse than usual it it was trying to find you the fasted "avoid" route.
Try turning off the traffic information (press satellite icon from map, TMC, Settings) and replanning the route and see what you get. I just did a route and it went round the M25!
