Is there anyway I can change the speed camera warning sound on the pre instaled POI data base? or just have the visual warning?

Its annoyingly harsh, especially when going through areas with multiple cameras on the same road.

I've had a good search round the forum to see if this had been discussed before but couldn't find anything

Are you talking about the inbuilt sounds? If so, just choose another. Polite 2 is my favourite.

From the 910 on-line manual:

1. Tap the screen to bring up the main menu.
2. Tap Change preferences.
3. Tap Manage POIs.
4. Tap Warn when near POI.
5. Select the category of POI you want to be warned about.
Select the category from the list or start to type the name of the category
and select it when it is shown in the list.
6. Set how close the POI should be when you receive a warning.
7. Choose the warning sound for the category of POI you selected.

Note: The Manage POIs button is only available when all menu buttons are
shown. To show all menu buttons, tap Show ALL menu options in the
Preferences menu.[/quote]

If you have a look HERE you will find some alternate files that can be loaded to the newer go x10 devices, make sure of your software version, and download the correct relative file, this is the one area the 910 comes into its own with custom spoken alerts for all your POI's that you want to be warned about. Although you could load the TTS files to the 510's card and do the same thing, the only question being one of legality/ availability - Mike

Cheers chaps, I assumed I accessed the POI's through the software and couldn't find anyway of doing that.

Didn't realise it was done on the actual unit Embarassed I now have a very pleasant gong sound (Polite 2) as Andy uses Smile

I'll check those downloadable ones later.

Cheers
