Traffic has just come back on for me this evening after making a search for an FM provider :D However, instead of saying RAC Live it now says, 105.8...... oh wait a minute, whilst typing this it's just changed to RAC Live again!!! Obviously 105.8 is the FM frequency on which I am getting the data at the moment. This service has got to become more reliable! Surely Garmin / Trafficmaster must work on this :x I have been without the service for over a week! I am going to the New Forest soon and I want it to work then...please...
Never go to Halfords (as I mentioned in my last post) and a good job too! Traffic is now back! So I am now starting a log of 'Traffics' availability. I will then take it from there. The big question is where do you take it! Legally, Halfords as the vendor are responsible. But the level of technical support leaves something to be desired.
I normally buy my GPS stuff from 'Global Positioning' but unfrotunately, they we not going to stock the 310D.
Thats it

I've just been back to Halfords tonight, but they were no help at all, saying I would oreally need to contact garmin. My traffic feature has been cack since I bought the unit 10 days ago
To me its one of the most important features, like today, sat on the M25 for over 45 mins as the poxy traffic service wasn't working :x

Don't forget, that Halfords are legally responsible. I have kept a copy of their sales 'splurge' re lifetime subscription to RAC Live. Also they sold you the kit which included the GTM12!
It sounds as if they are trying to do a Comet ( Comet are renowned for trying to get out of their legal responsibilities).

My new GTM 12 Traffic kit arrived a few days ago and bingo away it went -no problems so I wondered what all the fuss was about on these forums. Day 3 no signal , Day 4 Signal returned when it decided to .
It's back again today but it seems to have a mind of its own! If you sit on the drive and get signal and then switch off and restart within seconds- no signal? Very frustrating especially as I've paid £149.99 for it.
I'll ring Garmin and see what they have to say.
Nuvi 360 clearly works well so I suspect it must be either signal strength and/or TrafficMaster?
When Traffic Alert works it's great but why doesn't it work all the time?
I've looked at Garmin's website and reception area is claimed from the mapping to be virtually all of UK ex Central Wales and some parts of Scotland. As I'm basically just off J23 on M1, Loughborough but work in Leeds I'd have thought it would pick up signal at some stage en route even when not working when I set out from home? Sometimes it does sometimes not. _________________ TomTom 740 Go Live
