PiN 570 ActiveSync Problems

My Power connector on the PIN 570 fell apart, got a friend to fix it for me and it now works fine.......

The usual house/usb charger DOES charge the unit BUT i cant connect to my PC with activesync to upload my POI's, Ive tried various USB sockets but it just wont connect like i say it does charge but just refuses to connect with activesync although it worked fine before.

Im using activesync version 3.8.0 and have checked that it searches for devices using usb. I kind of thing the usb lead is knackered BUT when i plug the usb in my screen on the 570 DOES light up so that makes me think that the lead is actually fine and there must be another issue somewhere ? ? ?

Pls help, I drive for a living and the speedcam database is keeping the points down on my license
