NorthNorthumberland Gatso Warning signs

I have just been away from my local area doing a job for a customer thats moved away. Jaunting down the road as normal my snooper went mental about 400 yard from a known gatso. Thinking the camera was live i kept going (not speeding) and then i noticed a new set of signs on the road side. Maybe some new traffic master stuff.. NOPE a black sign lit up as i got closer to it with a white LED logo of the speed camera logo.
YeeeHaaa Northumbria Police are giving the non local drivers warning about a camera.. I drive past the camera and the snooper didnt alarm... The gatso was not live but the new signage is live and using a simmilar speed gun. Now i sit and think about it ! it's very nasty cos i wont know if the gatso is live because of the bleeding new signs. Nice idea but it aint half gonna mess the snooper users up.

Some areas take the enlightened view that cameras should only be in places of real danger, hence the advance warning. I wouldn't worry about whether the camera is active or not, the contents of your wallet are apparrently of little interest here - they are more interested in saving peoples necks.

I am assuming that these signs are only located where there is a 'real' need because they are expensive and reduce revenue.
