510 'slows' down

Anyone have an idea as to how to stop the 510 from dragging on and sometimes locking up while it's in use?

Mine was taking longer than usual yesterday to recalculate routes in a busy area of London (full signal) and when I went to zoom out the map in 3d mode (to see where we were heading) it locked up on me each time. Had to do a soft reset to get it going again. Later, in a less busy area, the zoom function worked fine.

Is the memory full of rubbish that I can clean out?
