Hi

Can you qualify my proposed choices as I'm totally new to GPS until today Confused

The package will be used on motorcycle so I don't think I'll have any aerial problems like you tin-can drivers :D .

Ipaq H2210, CF slot GPS, 512Mb SD and TomTom Nav2.

This has got to be capable of holding routes from North Yorkshire down to southern Spain.

Looks good. Please note that TomTom doesn't support cross country routing (well, not really) so you will have to map your route in portions, from border to border, and switch maps there. Basically you will have to know where you want to enter a country.

You will probably put the iPAQ onto the tank bag. Make sure you implement some kind of water protection. A plastic bag will do ( someone even proposed a condom once) but there are alos some more sophisticated and more expensive solutions...

Have a look at the RAM mounting systems. I use a Garmin on the Pan Euro but haven't mounted the 2210 yet.
