Hi guys

I am think about upgrading my PDA, I currently have a IPAQ 3760 which is running TTN 5.21 OK. I was thinking of going for the Dell Axim X51v 624 MHz. Can anyone let me know if it is worth getting or should I avoid it? Also does it matter if I get the 624 MHz or the 416MHz processor?

Any advice is most welcome.

Many thanks

Jonathan

I upgraded from an ancient iPaq3660 to a Dell Axim x51V recently.

I have no hesitation in recommending the device. It's quick, the display is excellent - I can use both my CF and SD cards at the same time. The main reasons for buying were the excellent screen and Wifi. Also Dell were offering it at 20% off at the beginning of the year! With 640*480 you can sit and use the device to browse the Internet and still be able to read the screen!

I've rarely had to reset it - which is a nice suprise.

I did have some problems synching Calendar and Contacts with Outlook 2003 - but these were resolved by a user on one of the Axim user forums.

I run TT5, Ozi ExplorerCE and Pocket Anquet on it without any problems. The basic battery life isn't stunning - but if you set the CPU speed low you can significantly boost it - you don't really notice it too much in use with navigation apps - apart from a noticably slower first load.

Go ahead - you won't be disappointed

Phil

Sorry - missed out your last question.

Mine is the 624Mhz processor - may as well have the power! I keep it in Auto mode for CPU speed and don't notice any real performance issues. Just browsing the internet or diary/contacts the CPU seems to run at about 104Mhz - according to the Settings/Power app.
