|
|
Anyone seen this before :
When I use SmartMAP, I most of the time see 10 green satellites in the GPS screen. All ok there. In TTN2 however, the GPS driver gets a 3D fix very as fast as usual, but 0 satellites are reported. Navigation etc. works perfectly though...
Any clues? (I use the latest driver, firmware and TTN2 version) |

The GSA part has been switched off - that's where TomTom gets its satellite data from. You can reprogram your receiver to get it back in _________________ Lutz

Is there a way to turn the GSA part on again? Through NMEA maybe? A utility? Or do I have to update the unit's firmware? ... Thanks in advance! |

Your GPS receiver should have come with a utility to change its parameters. What model are you using? _________________ Lutz

Which GPS receiver are you using ? It really does depend on the GPS Receiver chipset you are using. Some will require a SiRF Demo, most will work with WinFast Navigator (some won't) and others require the Evermore demo.
All of Navman's receivers usually use SiRF so SiRFDemo or WinFast Navigator should do it, but if you let us know which sleeve, CF card or Bluetooth receiver you are using we can give you the connect settings to test it under one of the above applications. |

Dave
I'm having the same problem as blackbit. I have the Navman 3400. I've downloaded WinFast Navigator and all the NMEA settings are what is suggested in the tweaking section. When I first installed TT2 I was getting only grey bars but since downloaded and installing CheckPOInt I'm getting 0 sats showing, but can get a 3D image.
In the GPS section, of TT2, it says Navman3000 and GPS Receiver com7, but when I go into ports in the navigator it won't allow me to access 0100 COM7 port unless the GPS is turned off!
Any suggestions greatly appriciated. |

I have been able to solve this problem!
Follow these steps :
1. First, remove the navman from the ipaq
2. Reset the IPAQ.
3. Install the Navman GPS 3000 GPS Info software (see downloads)
4. Attach the navman to the ipaq
5. Start the GPS Info utility
6. Choose 'reset defaults'.
7. Close the GPS Info utility
READY. TomTom should now show the number of satellites again. |
