Having just replaced my TOMTOM Go300 with an IPAQ Rz1710,I find that I have a problem in an insufficient memory message being shown, asking me to shut a programme down to conserve memory.

I would like to transfer the original SD card onto a higher capacity one.
I thought I knew how to do this(having done so with the TOMTOM GO)but I receive a no map message, even though the maps are shown on the new SD card files.
Can anyone help? Embarassed

Make sure you have no other programs running on the PDA as it is short enough on memory to start with Start/ Settings/ System Tab/ Memory Icon select "Running programs" tab and "Stop All" before you launch TomTom, also on the Main tab (within the memory applet) is a slider to alter the free memory between storage and programs, use this to allocate more memory to the programs.

The higher capacity memory card will not cure the low memory warning, but if you want to do this, put the original card into a card reader, and use Windows Explorer to copy the entire contents of the card to the PC (creat a folder in a known location to copy the files to) - make sure you go to Tools/ Folder Options, View Tab and check the box for "Show hidden files and Folders" BEFORE you copy the data across to the PC, then simply swap the old card for the new one and copy the contents of the new folder to the new card. You must maintain the file structure open the new folder on the PC - DO NOT COPY THE FOLDER TO THE SD CARD JUST THE CONTENTS - hope this helps - Mike

The only problem I have had running TT5 on a 1710 was when I used some shareware with a memory leak. After about 20 minutes of TT use I would get the close a program message. Removing the program stopped the problem.
