Hi guys
I was just planning a trip to Ireland (ROI) for a bit of fishing and thought I'd use my TT5 on my Ipaq 2210 only to find that the map isn't included on any of the 6 CD's! I thought Ireland was in Europe, have things changed?
I have nothing but praise for the TT5 software but this is a huge ommision is it not?
This is the island to the left of Wales, not Borneo, surely there is a map.
Anyone know more?
Help from you fellas is as always hugely appreciated.
Huw :D

From the TomTom site.

Apparently does

That'll be the UK v632 map which you can buy and download from TomTom's site

Thanks guys, I have found the major routes but they are minimal to say the least. I have Great Britain plus v571, does the v632 have more detailed road coverage?

If you search the forums (try "Ireland") you will see that there are several complaints that Tom Tom's coverage of Ireland is very sparse. Better in the North but still not good. The suggestion is that Copilot maps are much better

Peter
I dont suppose for one minute that the Copilot maps could be used with TTN5. I'll just have to remind myself how to use a map.
Thanks for your help all.

I asked TomTom this question a couple of months ago and they sent me this reply:

Thank you for your question regarding TomTom maps. TomTom is investigating the possibility of adding new unsupported countries but TomTom will not do so unless the DIGITAL map data is of a satisfactory quality. May we ask you to please keep an eye on our website in the months to come.

The DIGITAL data for the Republic of Ireland at this time from our DIGITAL map provider Tele Atlas is not of a quality that we find satisfactory. When this improves perhaps we will investigate the possibility of having this map data available.

The TomTom GO 700 will have some map data of Ireland but this will be limited to some areas of Cork, Dublin, and Galway along with the major roads data only. If you are not within the available data on the map then you will not have a GPS signal.

Northern Ireland is covered with 25 percent map coverage (perhaps slightly more) within the GB map but this is all of the DIGITAL map data our DIGITAL map provider Tele Atlas has available to us at this time.

If we decide to include the Republic of Ireland in any downloadable map with GB then only Dublin and the major roads will be included at the present time. That map is posted here and within this map map coverage of Northern Ireland has increased from 25 percent to 34 percent. This map contains the major roads of Ireland and Dublin, but no detailed map as of yet
.

Hope that helps.

Paul
