Whenever I switch the Ipaq off (eg at a service station) then switch it back on it only occasionally regains the bluetooth connection. I then have to do a soft reset and start again.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

(TTN2 most upto date version & drivers, Emtac BTGPS, Ipaq 3970)

There should be no reason to power down the iPAQ whilst in a service station, unless your battery won't last for more than 5 mins. Just leave it on, and make sure the switch on the GPS tab is set to keep alive. You will run on battery for a few minutes whilst you're filling up, but this will be replenished once you start driving again.

I never switch mine off, but I do always lock the doors to stop wannabe thieves knicking the gear. If you want to turn the display off, just hold the power button in to turn display off, then hold it back in again to bring it back on.

I usually stick the Ipaq in the glove compartment whilst we stop for some food etc. This can take an hour or so. I'm always worried the battery will fail which would be a disaster! That's why I tend to switch it off. Perhaps I'll just live on the edge!

Which is the keep alive setting? Presumably the small screen with the TomTom logo rather than the Zzz?

Thanks for the reply.

Yes, it's the Zzz slider, just slide it across to the TomTom logo and it won't power down.

Personally though, even if it's only an hour I'm gone for I exit TomTom Navigator 2 completely, then power off the Pocket PC. Power it back on again when I return and off I go. You can set the route before you close it down, so all you need to do is run TTN2 and select the Bluetooth Receiver and that's it.
