ViaMichelin Version 4.4 Patch due release Wed 8th Feb

I hav eposted my experience of the patch twice now only to find it has disappeared when I come back to the forum. I'm just posting this couple of lies now to see if these also disappear or not. If they remain, I'll try again. If they disappear, there is something wrong with the forum (and you won't be reading this!)

Okay, so the above posting is still there (and is proof that we should all preview our messages before posting to check for typos!).

So I downloaded the patch the other day.

Now I can navigate to an address in my address book on my Pocket PC from VM. That was one of my main gripes.

However, VM still seems incapable of handling navigation to a full UK Postcode. I never imagined that this one would be easy due to the comparative complexity of UK Postcodes compared to most of the rest of Europe.

I can't comment on Quickinstall problems as I was not having any problems in that area.

And I remind users that mapping errors shoudl be reported to the mapping company. ViaMichelin uses mapping provided by TeleAtlas. To contact them, go to www.teleatlas.com and follow the links to:

I have just received the following request from Mitchelin:

"In response to your query, we would be grateful if you could send us the ViaMichelin Navigation software so we can provide you with the latest version of the software. This version comes with updated maps and the postal code problem is solved. "

I am not sure why they have not released this as a patch for all Ver 4 users to download and update, it look as though if you want the new error free software you are going to need to request it from Mitchelin.

If you do decide to take this route don't hold your breath it has taken 20+ emails since the 8th Jan to get this far.
