I'm off on holiday to the West Coast and have been debating whether to get maps for the i3, however, this isn't my question!

Zogman did you drive in California? I ask because part of our holiday will be spent in California and I notice from the i3 manual that Californian law prohibits anything to be stuck to the windscreen (or side & rear windows) of a vehicle and recommends using the sticky disc. (Naturally I'll be using a hire car and so can't affix anything to their dashboard). I know you can get anti-friction mats etc and was just wondering if you used one and if so if you have any recommendations? Or were you a badass and flouted the law? Twisted Evil

bert ,you'll have a great time driving out there, completely different from the uk....at the time i went i had a garmin 60c handheld which i clipped onto a vent mount in the hire van..i suggest you get a vent mount ,stick a sticky pad onto it and mount onto the vent...its then a matter of attaching the i3 onto the the whole lot and away you go....re the californian laws, the police seem to be pretty ok over there,i had temporary license plates on a new hire van and the 'permanant' maker pen had worn off ,and the police had words and smiled and off i went, so i would'nt worry about the 'sticking on the windscreen bit'...
