Q1:
The wavs in the all folder seems to be the same as the UK versions.
Q2:
You can get custom alerts for each favorite category.
Just put a wav in the voice folder with the same name like your favorite.
example: if your category is 'speedcam' you have to put a 'speedcam.wav' in \DestinatorApps\Destinator\Common\Interface\Voice\EnglishUK
Q3:
The alert works on a radius of your location. _________________ D7

Does this mean I don't have to use the "Auto alerts 1" and "Auto alerts 2" names in Favorites then, but can have "RedLight" (cameras before getting excited), "Gatso", "Specs" or even "Gatso30", "Gatso40" etc. and not be limited to just the two alerts?
Thanks

auto alerts 1 and 2 are for Destinator3.
With PN you don't need them anymore. PN can alert on each favorite category.
So you can get excited :D _________________ D7

Excellent. I see some heavy editing to get GATSO30's etc coming on
Just to be clear, from the clean position of having done the 5.1.172 upgrade (having restored favorites) can you confirm that all I have to do is...
a) extract red lights from the database
b) convert through console to DAT format
c) place the resultant RedLight.DAT file with a corresponding BMP file of the same name in "My_Device\DestinatorApps\Destinator\Common\Favorites"
d) place a corresponding RedLight.WAV in "My_Device\DestinatorApps\Destinator\Common\Interface\Voice\EnglishUK"
e) go into Favorites and 'tick' RedLight
repeat a-e for each type of 'hazard' and get different icon on the map and voice alert for each category
Thanks

Why don't you give it a try?
The seperate alerts are working since ND 5.1.92
So there is a good chance, that OP Version 5.1.135 will work.
Just search your device for the voice-wav folder. _________________ D7

What do you mean, try the PN patch on Destinator OP. Will that not potentially my system up or could I just do a reinstalation if it didn't work.
I know that at the moment I can only have one voice alert and one lot of settings for all catergories in my favorites. I have added voice files and manipulated the DestinatorVoiveManeuver.inf file to no avail. I can have as many catergories as I want but they all have to have the same voice alert and distance settings. The only thing that I could get different is the icons that the catergories display.

Editing finished and now have GATSO30.BMP, GATSO30.WAV, GATSO30.DAT and GATSO40 etc. etc. in the right places and get the warnings at the right radius of the camera's.
But (why is htere always a but) the content of the WAV file is not played but the TTS thankfully reads the filename out load, so GATSO30.WAV has a sound clip "siren-woosh noise thirty" and I get GASTO30 splashed on the screen and the Emily TTS voice saying "GATSO-three-zero".
I can live with this and indeed it's easier than setting up separate WAv files, but not what should be happening...
Does destinator need the WAV files in Mono 8Hz or anything special? (clicking on the WAV file plays if OK from file explorer)
Whilst on niggles, Programs now has two icons, Destinator and Destinator(2) - both of which start PN - but the task list now shows PowerStatusWnd as a task I haven't seen before.
What is PowerStatusWnd?
How can I see what the icon in Programs is a shortcut to and delete it (in Windows I'd right click on it and use properties and just selectand del to delete it)?
Thanks as always
Rgds

With activated TTS there is no need for the different wav files.
To use the favorites wav files you have to uncheck TTS.
I think that the PowerStatusWnd was always there. (might be the tool that checks the battery)
To manage the files on the PocketPC I suggest total commander: (it even has a text editor included)

auto alerts 1 and 2 are for Destinator3.
With PN you don't need them anymore. PN can alert on each favorite category.
So you can get excited :D |
