I have created a POI icon and also created a list of POI's and converted them with "makeov2" for TomTom mobile 5.2
Both the POI Icon and the POI list have the same name but obviously different file types and I have dropped them into the GB Map folder.
The POI's are in the correct place on the map but it has put a red square instead of the icon I created at the location.
How do I associate the icon I created with the POI?

I have a SPV C550 and I am using TomTom mobile version 5.2!

The red square signifies that TT can't see an associated bmp file.

What extension did you give the Icon? It should be bmp.

The size is critical, it should be no larger than 22 x 22 pixels.

See here.

I have made it a bmp file and 22 pixels x 22 pixels but it is 16 bit colour format. I will try and make it 256 colours and see if that works.

That has sorted it. I converted it to 256 colours and it is now viewable. Thanks for your help.

Okay. How about this one? What size and color depth BMPs do the Menus use? I've tried all kinds. I've tried 80 X 50 in various depths but no joy.

Have you tried 72 x 48?

72 X 48 doesn't work either. Maybe it just doesn't on Nav 5 PPC.
