Searching for a MAP for FRANCE

Hi - I am asking for a mate of mine who has just bought a TTGo300 but has yet not been able to register to this site.

He is going to France in a couple of months and wondered how he goes about in obtaining a Map of France for his 300.

Obliviously he'd like the cheapest method in doing so and wondered other than getting them from Tom Tom Website (i think he said they were a Hundred quid?)

The way I would do it would be to buy a cheap 512mb SD card and download the French map from the TT website.
