Hi - Can someone help please?
I got a TTGo300 for Xmas, and just wondering how often do i need new maps? Are these downloaded from the Tom Tom site, are they free? Or do they have to be purchased from them? Do they send me a new card or just the downloads? As u can see i dont know much. This should be explained in the User Guide really.
Already i have found different roads / junctions on y TTGO so its already out of date and with the ever increasing road construction etc this is why im asking.
MANY THANKS 8O |

The Maps are always out of date because of the lead time in producing the data in usable form.
Normally TT produce Map Upgrades around May each year at an Upgrade Price. However they are doing new Maps at the moment at Full Price. http://www.tomtom.com/products/accessories.php?Product=72&Context=1&Language=1
There is no way of knowing whether these new Maps will have the roads on that you mention.
All Maps have to be paid for. _________________ Richard

hi
as you know all maps are out of date usually by at least a couple of years
you dont NEED to buy new maps every year just because you can
you have to ask yourself how often did you buy new maps/atlases before you got sat nav
when you know how much they are to upgrade you can decide if it is worth the money for a few extra roads
if you look at everyones comments on the last upgrade it probably isnt worth buying new maps every year as most people found that not much had changed
also if the road you want isnt on the maps i find that if i just type the postcode in it generally gets me to where i want to be
im not saying dont buy the maps but ask yourself do i really NEED them (at 40-60 quid a time)

AT LAST,
Someone with ' Commom Sense '
they should tell you what's been updated and list the changes, so you can decide if it's needed, and you can SEE where you money has gone. _________________ Using an A to Z
