newbie needs help on a combination of things please

got a qtek 2020i on the way for free (aka Xda IIi)

should i opt for Holux Gps cradle or ThinkNavi Gps cradle
with TTN5

or could i expect probs with both combos

These holders have the GPS receiver integrated; if your windscreen is silvered or has a heating element embedded in it you may not pick up the GPS signal. In that case you will need to consider a Re-radiating Arial or alternatively a mount without a GPS receiver in it. The receiver will then need to be linked by wire or Bluetooth to your PDA.
