Hi all,

I've been trying to activate the free trial period on my Go700 since XMas day, using e-mail address as user name & plus as password, but I cannot get connected. I'm using a Motorola V3 which is supported & I have no problems using bluetooth to connect Go700 & phone.

Am I missing something here?
Is there another way to activate the free trial?

AgHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH damn you TomTom

help!

When i get my 500 at the end of november i never had to activate the plus service by providing an email address/password.
Just bonded my phone to my tomtom and then enabled traffic.

The traffic feature is by prescription, £40 per year I think, I assume you paid up front & did not use the free months trial?

I've not paid anything or followed any activation process.

Unless when bonding with the mobile it connected to tomtom and then just gave me a trial based on the units unique id?

You'll soon find out, if you are on the trial, your month will be up around now & they will be looking for a prescription to continue.
I tried connecting to traffic instead of plus, but the result is the same, cannot connect to server. I've e-mailed TomTom support, I'll wait to see what they have to say?
Thanks anyway,
Russ

My traffic trial ran out today Sad

So I just typed in my email address and the password as specified in Trials on TomTom site and its back again.
I did receive a Welcome to Plus service email after doing this and now according to my plus services on TomTom.com it says:
Traffic United Kingdom
valid until 10-02-2006

Smile

I finally managed to get my trial working yesterday. I think the server was overloaded with new owners who got TomTom's for Xmas.
As for your trial ending and restarting without a subscription, I'm sure I read somewhere that TomTom had added another month to the trial period as it was not working for a few days in succesion last month. You will be able to confirm this in a months time. : )

I have TTG 700 and Motorola razr v3 with tmobile (us) and could not access the plus services even though I could use the v3 for phone functions via bluetooth. Through some searching (big help from a post by gilwang), this is how I made it work:

1) select TomTom Traffic on the 700
2) start the setup, select razr v3 from phone list
3) select united states
4) select Tmobile (any of them)

the 700 will try to connect to the service and fail (I think they have the wrong init string)

5) when you get the error message select the option for MANUAL config
6) for APN, enter: wap.voicestream.com
7) for user name, leave blank and press done
8) for password, leave blank and press done
9) for IP, select: auto
10) for DNS, select: auto
11) for login script, enter: +cgdcont=1,"ip","wap.voicestream.com"

that's it. after a few seconds you should see GPRS Active on your phone screen.

I am trying your settings and indeed do get the data icon on the phone, but it still times out and fails. What string do you use in the 'dial' field? Also, is the removal of the 'at' in the beginning of the login script intentional?
