Hi, I have a Mio A201 i cant load Tomtom 5 and if i copy the cabs to the device including the update the programs starts and shutsdown straight away and if i load Navigon Navigator 5 it starts but it cant seem to find the maps. I hear some people have problems and some dont is this a firmware issue if so how do i get a new one. how do the resellers get these to work. any help would be appreciated. as i seem to have the nicest GPS pda that wont run any gps software.

I suggest you buy the software and it might work rather than using copies.

for your information we have over 25 satnav pdas in our company using various software so your comment about buying the software is rubbish as all our software is original.

Why on earth are people here so quick to assume others are using pirated copies ??.

It's not very friendly or helpful.

I am afraid I can't help you with these problems & although it is very frustrating I reckon if you keep looking on this site the problems with the new Mio & sat nav software will be sorted.

I had problems with Navigon 5 & my Mio 168 & Navigon said it was the Mio then all of a sudden the released a patch which sorted it, but I still hated it so went with TT5.

No company wants to take responsibility for any problems do they.

Hope it all gets sorted as I'm waiting to upgrade the 168 to the 201.

Cheers

Its a shame as the A201 is a lovely bit of kit, it seems Mio listerned to the users and gave us a turnable aerial, removable battery better screen. TMC.
Shame about the naff OS.
Dont even get me started on ActivSync 4.1 what a bug ridden piece of software.
I have found one thing out that the reason TomTom shuts down is because it can not see the Device ID. So i know the problem but am still no nearer finding the cure. Bring back Windows Pocket 2003. Please!!

Hi all. I thinking of going down the Mitac Mio A201 & TTN5 route. The question I have is, if it is difficult to install TTN5 on the A201, how do you get to a stage where you can download and apply the 5.21 upgrade? Thanks.

Thanks for the reply. Isnt the 5.21 'upgrade' an exe file? If so, dont I have to install the rest of TTN as normal, then do the upgrade? Thanks

Hi there, I just got my Mio A201 and I was wondering if anyone knows about GPS baud-rate settings.
I got navigator 5.21 working, allthough it only works with the following settings: other NMEA GPS; 4800 Baude rate; GPS_HWCOM.
So I guess no native support for A201...
But what does that Baud rate mean and why do I have to set it to almost the lowest setting? Also I would imagine that instead of GPS_HWCOM I should have selected COM4 as specified in the GPS setting menu in the OS. Clearly I am a n00b.... but does anyone have a clue?

thanx
