I use the TomTom Bluetooh GPS, iPAQ 2210 and TomTom 2.24. I occasionally get problems with the BT interface whereby the receiver just stops outputting data. After this it is difficult to remake the connection. The only reliable way is to power cycle the GPS and perform a soft reset on the PDA. When this happens the receiver appears to be working correctly and has a fix.

Sometimes the system can work for hours without problems and at other times it can only run for a few minutes.

Do I have a problem with my GPS or the iPAQ?

Please help

Most definately the iPAQ. I have the same configuration and I notice this on a whole range of Bluetooth Receivers. What I believe happens is once the 2210's processor becomes stressed (highly utilised) the Bluetooth Stack is the first thing to stop working as this requires quite a bit of processor. This can be caused by a leaky program, or a plugin you have on your today screen, or the start bar menu system you have running.

Usually you'll find soft resetting the iPAQ alone will rectify this problem (this is what I have found), and that clears what tasks/programs that are running in memory/processor.

I never usually see this on TomTom Navigator but I have witnessed this quite often when playing MP3's and using CoPilot Live. It may not be down to processor utilisation, but memory. Certainly when it happens MP3's are playing, CoPilot is navigating, I'm approaching a junction so there's a zoom in, and the fonix text to speech engine kicks in, all using processor and memory heavily. This obviously isn't the case with you and TomTom Navigator, but I suspect there's other programs you have running in memory that are causing this problem.

Same setup, TTN2+2210 and find BT somewhat flaky and thats even after upgrading to latest GPS drivers.

Also find when "playing" with TTN2 it will seek BT connection and impossible to close using cancel button.

Thanks for the input.

I don't have other programs running when I see the problem but I have TomTom installed on SD memory is that a problem?
