Garmin gps 18 5Hz

Garmin's new WAAS capable receiver/antenna. What does it means the "5Hz , update rates available to 5Hz"? Does it has better horizontal accuracy ?

Hz stands for Hertz or cycles per second.

In this case I think it means that the position information is updated 5 times per second which is quite fast - most GPS units will only update once per second.

I guess that this is aimed at use for autopilots on boats?
