I downloaded some software from leadtek, http://www.leadtek.com.tw/eng/support/download.asp?downlineid=80&downline=Leadtek%20Bluetooth%20GPS%20Receiver
, opened it up on my device XDA11i clicked on tools and selected nmea, and waited a few minutes and the settings switched over from sirf to nmea of which tt5 requires, now works very well indeed.

hi,
i have
gps leadtek 9553
palm tungsten E2
software tomtom navigator 5.21.

i have the same problems guys:
".....no valid gps signal" and.... ".....the gps signal was lost nn seconds ago....".

i called navigator assistance and they told me that this gps device is not on the list tried by tomtom, i mean they told me that probably tomotom navigator 5 doeans't support the gps 9553.

please if somebody already fixed this, please let me know it, because it drives me nuts..... Twisted Evil Evil or Very Mad

ciao

I'm in the same boat as you guys. I got the Leadtek 9553 as a gift, and am unable to get it to work with TT5 on my Treo650. Crying or Very sad

The device itself seems to work though, since Leadtek's software connects and functions fine with the phone.

Hi,
first of, I have:

TomTom 5.12
gps leadtek 9553
and a Palm T|X

At first, I had the same problems (disc not turning, no valid signal...),
but these settings work for me:
In TT: other bt gps device
Use Leadtek Navigator to set any baud rate and
GGA = 1
VTG = 1
all the rest = 0

It doesn't give you any status on the satellites, but it does give a position
and you can use TT to navigate somewhere.
