I echo one of the earlier posts that said about an AVOID option, even if you couldn't specify a road then perhaps you could avoid the town nearest to the problem area so that it would calculate a route away from it...OK would be a problem for a CITY as it would be hard to avoid this if you were living in a city, but just a thought.

In addition to the current map view, how about a satellite screen which shows the number and position of the satellites in view and also a screen which would show the direction and speed and a list of other info, perhaps average speed, max speed trip odometer etc. I think these could be added to addional menu items belo the "map view".

I have an eTrex which has this info and I find it quite useful.

garmin have produced a basic gps with basic navigation...surely if you want more features you get a c310/c320 etc......i am extremely satisfied with my i3, it tells me where i am ,navigates to where i want to go and tells me when to slow down for the speed cameras....i appreciatte that peeps like to have 'extra features' on their i3 and like to sound off their thoughts but honestly what more do you want for £199 !

I agree with all the people that have said for the new software version update: on the map keep the zoom selection on the bar you select perminantly and not automatically zoom 3/4 bars up. okay it might be to give u the most suitable view when driving but i think people should have the option to choose it for their own needs

Its SO ANNOYING is it a bug/glitch? so please get them to sort that out

Man these "Johnny stiff upper lip" types do my head in okay its only £199 but it seems to me if these brave boys hadnt badgered for software updates and made their feelings known about other little things we would all be sitting in our cars with a frozen map screen. :P

I'll put this piece here as well as the other thread about Garmin's vulnerability to be stolen as this thread may be monitored by Garmin. In my opinion the most important enhancement that Garmin could offer would be to render the unit useless or to be able to inform the police of its location in the event of the unit getting stolen from a car. This is the only way that people can enjoy having their units in the car all the time while stopping thugs from benefiting by ruining other people's lives. If GPS has the ability to monitor how much we drive (for future road charges) or monitor our speed then surely this ability should be used first to protect us from thieves. If this would require any effort at all from Garmin (which I think is very much worth while) then the least thing they can do is to block providing unlock codes for future updates for any unit ID that is reported to Garmin as stolen.

What about a route summery screen that would give you more information on the route that the i3 has just calculated. Info like total miles, total time, perhaps even a rough estimate of the cost of the fuel?

At present you just get an arrival time, which is great, but I’d quite like a little more info. Perhaps it could just be an information box that flashed up for a few seconds after the route has been calculated then disappeared. That would keep things simple for those that don’t like to push too many buttons. What do you think? Confused

Owned a TT300 for about six months and now swaping ovr to a I3 basically for the size of the thing and the positive reports on here. Just one question on mapping if anyone can help as the various adverts around contradict each other.

Does the I3 include or not the major roads of Europe if purchased from Argos for £179.

Are cards available from garmin for the I3 for the other EU counties and how much.
