Impressed with holux gr-231

Ive just bought the above gps after reading the review on this site
and I am amazed at the perfomance of it

It works in the glove box of my car and even indoors

Previously ive been using a garmin gps 35 serial gps which needed line of sight (connected to a laptop)

Does anyone know why its dramatically better than a serial gps ?
