I have a Holux 236 on a Orange C500 running Tomtom Mobile
You'll be glad to know that I actually have it working.......
However when using tomtom there seems to be about 1 second delay
from your actual position to that shown on the map
This is my first time using TomTom software and was wondering whether this was normal.
I thought it might be the Baud rate setting. I can't find where to change it in Tomtom Mobile and whether you could change on the Device
On Mapoplis you can set the baud rate within the app
Does anybody now what the maximum setting is
Thanks |

don't know about the c500, but all the phones i have tried, you cannot change the baud rate,
you may also have a lag if to much is running on the phone,
but finaly 1 second lag with the compact display of a mobile phone sounds normal to me |

How did you get the 236 to work with TomTom mobile? I have been trying to get them to work the last couple of days and haven't been very successful.
I tried enabling comport 6 but no use. All I get is a spinning yellow/black circle and "No GPS Device!" I'm using TomTom Mobile 4 with Traffic update. |

What's wrong with using the original GPS unit you had when you bought TomTom Mobile? _________________ Life's too fast can I get off and walk for a bit?

it could depend on how you are using tt
if you are using in guide mode then it knows which direction you should be going and displays the direction you should take if you the dont go the way tt says there is a small delay until it realises you are not where it thinks you should be then it will update
if you are using it to track where you are without a route there is a small delay as it works out where you are going. you only see this at turns because it doesnt know which way you should be going
