Hi,

Yes! That works for me hubby's citroen picasso. I usually switch it on in the house before I leave and "usually" manage to maintain a signal throughout - sometimes lose it round a corner or two - but comes back straight away.

I was going to get an aerial, but not bothering now. It works fine in my Peugeot 206 as well - think that has one of those windscreens as well, but been a woman i've never bothered to read the handbook!

Didn't manage to get an antenna in time for trip to France, must admit the directions at times were poor due to intermittent loss of signal and had to resort to a map on more than one occasion. I had a look in various shops in France but there seems to be no supply there either.

I think that an antenna will sort it so am not giving up on the TOMTOM!.

However still think it's an indictment on TOMTOM that they have had such a supply issue. It seems that there are some shops that now have stock so I will get one on order, just wish it had been a couple of weeks earlier!!.

Cheers to all for info on previous posts.

Hi

Just for the future, or for anybody else with one of those windscreens:

I use my TT in two cars. The VW has no probs, but the Pug307 has the asthermic windscreen and I discovered that by mounting the suction mount on the side window instead of the windscreen, I normally get a good signal, sometimes all bars up, with very few dropouts.

Yes you do have to have the window wound up, and have to remove the mount if I need to wind down the window, for some reason, but with the weather in the UK, and climate control at hand I always keep the window up anyway.

Hi jmagla,

I think thats what they call Sods Law!!! TomTom External Antennas for new GO units are now freely available.

TomTom always seem to suffer from supply demands when launching their new products. What a problem to have!!
