hello could you anybody please tell me if my tomtom gps receiver is waterproof ? i have the latest receiver which is silver in colour also is there anyway i can extend the cable on the receiver and if so is there a drop off in signal the furthere the cable run.

I don't think they are waterproof, might survive the odd splash but they were designed for in-car use. As for extending the cable, this has been discussed before, all you need is an RJ11 extension lead. There won't be a problem at lengths up to 10m or so, that should be plenty for most installations!

Be careful and make sure you get an extension lead and mot a cross-over lead as this can destroy your GPS device.
