BT-308 weak bluetooth signal

Recently I purchased a bt-308 the only problem that I notice is that the Bluetooth specs say 3-9 meters I am only getting about a foot a way from an Ipaq 1940 and a Ipaq 3975 and a Bluetooth enabled laptop HP nw8000 before losing signal.

I returned the unit once and the replacement is only slightly better gobalsat refused to provide any support even though I purchased it trough an authorized dealer. Does any body have any suggestions or advice.

Hi,

Yes - get back on to them again for a replacement or your money back. If it doesn't receive at the specified distance, then it is not fit for purpose.
The common denominator in your case would appear to be the BT receiver. Have you tried using the devices in a different location - may be some interference factor at play if you have tested in just the one location.

I have used a BT-308 for over a year now and it is an excellent unit. However, I have noticed that the BT reception limit is only 6 or 7 feet which fortunately is not a problem for me. I previously had a TomTom BT receiver which would connect from several metres away.

I found that the unit works best on full chare or plugged in
as long as I have a ful charge im ok Thanks for the help
