European maps 510 work on 520?

Hi there I have the 510 and my father in law is thinking about getting the 520 can we share a set of the pan european maps? As i for one might never use them or at least only in a hire car on holidays.

Wondering if anyone knew if they would still work on the 520.

also how can i check waht space i have left on my card that came with navman. and can u put maps on any internal memory?

No, you can't share maps, or at least you can't share the activation codes. V3 maps should work on the 520 running 2005 as Navman maps have traditionally been backwards compatible.

To check your remaining space you could put the card into a card reader. On the PPC version of the Navman Desktop it tells you how much space is left in each memory area when you have the device connected. Doesn't the 510 Desktiop offer this information?

No, there is no internal memory space on the 510 (or 520, I think) for maps. The 510 manual erroneously states that you can put maps into internal memory but I've had it confirmed by Navman that this is not the case.

and the Icn510 maps Be they european or Uk will
not run on the icn520....

The 520 uses smart st 2005 which is different system
You wil have to wait and get Smart ST V4 for the 510
