Navman iCN610

Hi, my first post.

Last week had a street pilot C320 which took me round in circles but a lovely screen. Changed for a 610, but cannot get up an running as will not get GPS fix. Thinks I am at 0 lat and long (am in UK Dorset)

Also address location can be hit and miss.

Any help please, not a complete numpty as used marine systems for years, but land based Embarassed

Conger....
Hi matey, how you doing?
I installed the iCN610 into its bracket the other Day, and managed to close the aerial, which reduced its sensitivity to collect data from the satelite? Another member from this forum cannot get a gps lock for some 25/30 miles in one direction, yet 100% on the return journey?

My only offer here is, ensure the aerial is fully extended when in its bracket, Make sure that you dont have an electrically operated heated front windscreen, as this will hinder GPS reception, and finally..........Laughing Out Loud! I cant remember the 3rd? he he! if I remember the other thing to try, I`ll paste it here.
Take care
Chas

I too bought an external aerial from E-Bay. I think it came over from the US. Even with the postage, it was about half the price of the aerial on Navman shop site.
There is a vast improvement in the GPS reception with the aerial.
