Maybe it's a stupid question, but how do the maps on my 700 get updated? Obviously the road network changes fairly regularly!
Do Tomtom publish regular revisions?
Thanks
Iain

Tom Tom use digital maps from a company called Teleatlas. There has recently been an upgrade issued on a new SD card for the UK by Tom Tom for about £60 or so. You will have this in your 700. But this upgrade did include post code data.
Unfortunately updates run about 2 years behind the event and as such do not reflect the roads the day of issue. Some map companies appear better than others at reducing this delay (Navman for example) but at the moment Teleatlas are the Tom Tom preferred supplier. I believe there will be an annual issue.
Hope this helps

Thanks for that. Another stupid question, 'is the annual upgrade free or expensive'?

As far as I know there has only been the one so far and that was around £60.
However it did include the post code data so may be there was a premium for that.
Many people who purchased the upgrade did not think it good value (lack of recent road upgrades) so who knows what tom Tom will charge next time round.
